Teco a.s. is a leading Czech manufacturer of industrial control systems and systems for intelligent building management.
We were invited to take a high-level look at their IoT software solutions and propose modernization in performance, scalability, security and user experience areas.
Our deep dive into Teco's existing solution allowed us to harmonize its essential features with the organization's strategic objectives. The outcome? A comprehensive roadmap, meticulously outlining the path for improvements and transformations.
Project Results
Rapid discovery with artifacts
We were fast at diving into the problem and finding optimal solutions. Also we left behind artifacts describing our understanding and options to solve the problem.
Comprehensive solution design
We provided Teco with a comprehensive solution design that included solutions for such problems as device discovery, device communication and device management. Facing such challenges as authentication and authorization, API management, telemetry data collection and network security, we designed a solution which covers them all effectively.
Alignment with business strategy
By interviewing stakeholders, presenting our solution to the top-management and technical specialist of Teco, we iteratively aligned it with business needs and strategy.
Precise delivery plan
High-quality plan was also in the scope of the project - we focused on a detailed implementational plan which counted with business deadlines and conditions.
Real delivery
Moreover, we were lucky to participate in the software delivery, developing IoT device monitoring system in cloud (Azure) according to our designed solution.
Project Phases
We have leveraged the approach to advisory and consulting to which we are used to. In order to keep up with the business and keep the feedback loop as short as possible we prefer short but efficient analytical and architectural phases with as much synchronization points with the business as possible.
This project was no exception. We started with one-week discovery and two weeks of solution architecture phases. Then promptly aligned our vision with the business and proceeded with three-week system design period.
After successful completion of the advisory part we immediately switched our focus and efforts to modernizing one of the business processes. We developed a cutting-edge software system to handle telemetry data from Teco hardware. This included modules for efficient data collection via cellular network, time-series database storage, and business intelligence for real-time dashboards and reports. Leveraging Azure's cloud-native approach, we achieved high reliability and operational excellence while maintaining cost-effectiveness and required performance.
